It all starts with;

The booking in process.
Parts to be plated are firstly inspected, priced out, comprehensively dismantled and itemised, down to the last nut, bolt and washer, drawn out and entered into our filing system.
Customers are normally quoted before any work is carried out.

Stripping process.
All parts are carefully separated into various metals, i.e. brass, steel, aluminium, stainless steel and die cast materials, this is very important because some chemicals can be used to treat one material but not another. Once everything is segregated, steel parts would be derusted, all other parts would then be chemically stripped down to the bare metal, any paint would be removed, again by a chemical process. After stripping, all items are carefully inspected for any necessary repairs , (dents, holes, cracks, components bent out of shape etc.).

Polishing process.
The polishing is mainly a two stage process.
Parts are initially polished on a 'Linishing machine'. Starting with a coarse belt going down through the grades to a very fine one. Depending on the condition of the material the items are then polished in the areas not accessible with the 'Linishing machine' with a variety of small tools (also going down through the grades) and finally finished evenly all over to a high polish ready for the plating process.
Prior to wiring up for plating the items are cleaned of all polishing soap, grease etc. and any threads, bushes, bearing holes and apertures likely to be a problem in assembly are plugged or masked.
